Life Legacy





A Funeral Service for Rena Faye Smoot of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Rena passed away March 27, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 76. She was born October 11, 1935, in Baxter County, Arkansas, the daughter of Ed and Bulah Cockrum Field. She married Bill Smoot on Auguts 16, 1978 at West Plains, Missouri and worked at Baxter Laboratories where she retired from. Rena lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1967 moving from Corcoran, California. She enjoyed reading, bingo and rummy.

Rena is survived by her daughter, Debbie Foster of Mountain Home, AR; son, Eddie (Tammy) Cotter of Mountain Home, AR; 5 grandchildren, Leesa (Darick) Brown of Viola, AR, Chad (Jamie) Foster of Viola, AR, CJ Wright of Cape Girardeau, MO, Lacey Cotter of Flippin, AR and Kyle Cotter of Mountain Home, AR; 6 great-grandchildren, Devin, Nicole, Lakynn, Dalton, Lynnsey and Trey; 3 brothers, Don Field of OR, Bobby (Nora) Field of CA and Floyd (Karla) Field of CA; 2 sisters, Reba Noonis of Mountain Home, AR and Paulen (Preston) Marshall of Caulfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, JD Cotter and Bill Smoot and 1 daughter, Sue Wright.

Burial will be in the Mt. Calm Cemetery, Viola, Arkansas, with Darick Brown, Chad Foster, Kyle Cotter, CJ Wright, Bill Marshall and Curt Cotter as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice.
