Charles Somers

Memorial services for Charles Albert Somers of Gassville, AR, will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Daryl Young officiating. Charles died Sunday, September 6, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 86. He was born Sunday, June 3, 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Claude and Elizabeth Somers. He married Viola Le Master on February 5, 1944 at Barton, Arkansas and worked as an electrician. Charles Somers was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He lived in Gassville since 1996 moving from Harrison, Arkansas. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Baptist Church. Charles Somers is survived by his 2 sons, Charles (Shelia) Somers of Little Rock, AR, Gary L. (Maria) Somers of Bon Aire, GA and Kevin Eugene (Mickey) Somers of Harrison, AR, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, Claude "Bud" (Caroline) Somers of Harrison, AR, Gene (Beulah) Somers of Byrdstown, TN, Paul (Charlotte) Somers of Martinsville, IN and Joe (Sue) Somers of Martinsville, IN and 1 sister, Dorothy (Emory) Howard of Martinsville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 1 sister. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
