Deborah M Stanuch

April 5, 1947 — February 1, 2023

Deborah Marie "Debby" Stanuch, 75, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Debby was born on April 5, 1947, in Peoria, Illinois, to Maurice and Irene Ybarra Crosbie. She graduated from high school and continued her education at the Mundelein College in Chicago, where she majored in finance and economics. She married Don on February 14, 1976 in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Debby attended the Illinois Central College, Bradley University, and Eureka College, majoring in speech and drama. During her working years in Illinois, Debby worked for WIVC Radio and the American Broadcasting Company; she was the assistant vice president for Becker Securities and Oppenheimer Securities; and later, she was a technical recruiter for DeSaulnier MacLeod and TSC companies. Debby was a partner and co-owner of Career Partners, an IT Technical Recruiting Firm.

When she and Don moved to Arkansas in 2004, she went to work for KTLO Radio, where she was a reporter and host of Talk of the Town. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, where she sang in the Chancel Choir. Debby was passionately involved with the Twin Lakes Playhouse, where she appeared in many productions. She was also a member of the Sweet Adelines International and the International Championship Chorus, the Melodeers. Debby's concern for those in need brought her to serve as board president of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, where she oversaw the receipt and implementation of the Donald W. Reynolds Organization Grant, which was a catalyst for moving the Food Bank from Norfork to Mountain Home. She was a fierce advocate for individuals struggling with poverty and hunger. Her concern for those in need also brought her to Serenity's door, where she volunteered and served on the board. She helped create the Taste of the Twin Lakes fundraiser, a major event that supports Serenity's cause. Debby leaves a lasting legacy through her compassion for others.

Debby is survived by her husband, Don Stanuch of Norfork, AR; sister, Ida (Gerry) Lacy of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
