Alanzo Crissman

November 21, 1908 — March 10, 2005

Alonzo S. Crissman was born November 21, 1908, in Davenport, Iowa to Alonzo M. and Jessie M. Rambeau Crissman. He joined the Iowa National Guard when he was seventeen and was called to active duty for WWII in 1940. He was promoted to Captain in Field Artillery, serving in the South Pacific until 1944. He married Katherine Lauer on February 1, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa. He has been in the good care of the Twin Lakes Nursing Home in Flippin, Arkansas since his move to Arkansas in 2003 from Des Moines, Iowa. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Des Moines and he supported youth camping programs. Mr. Crissman loved fishing. Alonzo Stephen Crissman passed away at Twin Lakes Nursing Home on March 10, 2005 at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 19 days. Survivors: Son, Robert (Wendy) Crissman, of Flippin, Arkansas; grandson, Mark Crissman of New Prague, Minnesota; and four great-granddaughters. Preceded in Death by: Parents, wife, one daughter and three sisters. Funeral: A Memorial Service for Alonzo S. Crissman of Flippin, Arkansas, will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2005 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with Reverend Pam Morgan officiating.
