Albert George Newton

Albert George Newton of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away December 20, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 91. He was born July 14, 1932, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Cleo and Mary McConnell Newton. He married Lois Beverly O'Harra in 1952 and started working at the University of Iowa shoveling coal and at retirement was a Engineer Technician Inspector. Later in his life he married Martha Jane Wharton. Albert was a U.S. Veteran of the Army National Guard. Albert lived in Mountain Home since moving from Solon, Iowa, in the late 90's. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. Albert was an avid outdoorsman and loved a good porterhouse steak.

Albert is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Randy) Fossum of Mount Vernon, Iowa and Jen (Mike) Reynolds of Iowa City, Iowa; son, Jonathon (Lisa) Newton of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; grandchildren Faith, Jimmy, Bristol and Danica.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; grandson, Riley Reynolds.

A Celebration of Life will be held December 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to Hospice House and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
