Alice Geiger died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 in Richardson, TX at the age of 93. She was born Tuesday, November 16, 1915 in Boyceville, Wisconsin, the daughter of William H. and Julia Engelbretson Lake. She married George J. Geiger on January 26, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois and was a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. Alice lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas from 1972 until 2005 before moving to Dallas, TX to be near her family. She loved working with her hands doing ceramics, needle work and crocheting. She adored her great-grandchildren and loved to walk. Survivors: Alice Geiger is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Curt) Palmer of Dallas, TX, sister, Esther (Orlin) Olson of Eau Claire, WI, grandson, Michael (Lisa) Derby of Columbia, SC, granddaughter, Michelle (Jeff) Cox of Dallas, TX, great-grandchildren, Ethan, Katie and Aidan Michael Cox, niece, Patty (Ken) Stangel of Eau Claire, WI, and nephew, Rick Olson of Eau Claire, WI. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Edward and George Lake and 1 sister, Faye Lake. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Friday, January 2 at Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral: Funeral services for Alice Felicia Geiger, formerly of Mountain Home, AR will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services, with Pastor Daryl Young officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the American Legion or VFW.
