Alida Battjes

Alida Battjes was born November 20, 1924 at Sonoma, California to Pieter and Marije VanRyn deJonge. She married Nicholas Battjes on August 27, 1946 at Sonoma and they moved to Mountain Home in March 1979 from Arcadia, California. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, AARP, United Methodist Women and sang in the Choir at the church.Alida Battjes passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Good Samaritan Village at the age of 82 years and 3 months. Survivors: Two sons; Peter N. (Vivian) Battjes of North Bend, Washington and Paul J. (Jo Anna) Battjes of Kamloops, Canada, One daughter; Lori (Henry) Kwant of Battle Creek, Michigan, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, one sister; Tina (Leonard) Reifenstein of Sonora, California, one brother-in-law Gerald Battjes of Grand Rapids, Michigan and her extended family of caregivers at Good Samaritan Village. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation: From 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home. Funeral: a Graveside service will be Monday, February 26, 2007 at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Peter Battjes officiating. Memorials: Good Samaritan Village Chapel Additional Notes: Her favorite Arkansas experience was going to Rock Bridge and her favorite Restaurant was the Diamond Head Chinese Restaurant.
