A Funeral Service for Allen Bernard Johnson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 AM, Monday, March 5, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Alley-White American Legion #52. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the funeral home. Allen passed away March 1, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 93. He was born September 22, 1918, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Ester Olson Johnson. Allen was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and worked as a semi truck driver for Jones Motor Company. Allen lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas from 1979 - 1989 and then returned in 1997 from Chicago, Illinois. He was a life member of the Alley-White American Legion #52. Allen is survived by his special friend, Clara Laska of Mountain Home, AR; son, Allen (Karen) Johnson of Sharps Chapel, TN; daughter, Twalla (John) Haynes of Joliet, IL; 7 grandchildren, Dante, Michelle and Daniel Scudella, Adam and Mark Johnson, Sarah Kite, and Ray and Lana Haynes; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, Twala Laverne Lange Johnson and Edna M. Firnhaber Johnson, 1 son, David, 1 daughter, Jeanette Scudella, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Beecher, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund or Alley-White American Legion #52.
