Mr. Morrow died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was 81. He was born November 14, 1925 at Hickory, North Carolina, the son of David and Grace Hoke Morrow. He married Betty Grissum and had been a resident of the Bull Shoals area since moving from Hickory, North Carolina in 1949. He was a farm equipment mechanic and co-owner of Hoke Equipment Company. He also was a former bus driver for the Flippin School District. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing the guitar and woodworking. Mr. Morrow was the 6th Mayor of Bull Shoals, serving from 1963 - 1965; former Bull Shoals Fire Chief; past Commander and Quartermaster of Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post #1341, and VFW District 2 Quartermaster; member of Bull Shoals Historical Society; and a Trustee of Newton Flat Cemetery. Mr. Morrow served with the US Coast Guard during World War II. Survivors: his wife Betty; 2 sons: Roger (Carmon) Morrow and Jeffery (Jamie) Morrow of Flippin; 2 daughters: Janet Morrow of Southaven, Mississippi and Alice (William) Bennett of Denver, Colorado; 5 Grandchildren: Cristin Morrow Jackson, Jimmy, Leslie and Coty Morrow and Justin Bennett; 1 great grandson: Ty Lane Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
