A funeral service for Alois E Polhorsky of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Walt Geery officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Hiram Shaddox Geriatric Center, at the age of 95. Alois was born January 9, 1916 in Chicago, IL, the son of Michael and Christine Slaby Polhorsky. He married Nancy Fischer on June 27, 1953 at Chicago, Illinois and worked as a Electrical Engineer for Sciaky Brothers. Alois Polhorsky was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1999 moving from Hillside, Illinois. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Baptist Church and was a good family man.
Alois is survived by one son, Edward (Genie)Polhorsky of Elmhurst, Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Salem Collo/Julin, Eddie and Nick Polhorsky; one sister, Lorraine Millar of Midolothian, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and four sisters.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Ed, Nick, and Eddie Polhorsky, Salem Collo/Julin, Walt Geery and Nathan Moore as pallbearers.
