Alvina Baasch

Alvina Baasch was born Tuesday, May 11, 1920 in Orleans, Minnesota, daughter of Paul Schwenzfeier and Marie Angerhofer. She married Adrian D. Strom in 1942 on the Schwenzfeier family farm, Orleans, Minnesota. She married Fred L. Baasch on December 18, 1965 at River Forest, Illinois. She worked as a Registered Nurse in North Dakota, Minnesota and Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois. Alvina lived in Mountain Home for 30 years moving from Elmood Park, Illinois. She was a member of Redeemer Ladies Guild, Stephen Ministry at Redeemer Lutheran Church, an avid gardener, and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Alvina Baasch died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 87. Survivors: 2 daughters, Patricia A. (Arnold) Fege of Annandale, VA, Kim (Tom) Wynn of Mountain Home, AR, 1 son, Ron (Marcy) Baasch of Chicago, IL, 3 grandchildren, Ty and Kody Staggs and Renee Baasch, 3 great-grandchildren, Kayley, Cerah and Braxton, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: her husbands, Fred L. Baasch and Adrian Strom, parents, and 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Visitation: 5-8 P.M., Thursday, January 10 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 11, 2008 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kenneth Taglauer officiating.
