Amelia L. Neargarder was born June 11, 1907 at Melvin, Iowa, to Henry and Mable Jacobs Lutterman. She married Charles Cooper in 1923 in South Dakota where they farmed for many years. After his death in 1946, she married Russell Neargarder. She worked in production at National Envelope and has lived in Mountain Home since moving from Illinois in 2003. She was of Lutheran faith.
