Anna Katherine (Katie) Flippo met her savior, Jesus Christ, on January 9, 2017 in Burleson, Texas. Katie was the beloved child of Pat (Elizabeth) Flippo of Fayetteville, AR and Kay Willms Flippo of Berkeley, CA. She graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1994 and The University of Memphis in 2002. Upon graduation, she moved to Texas to begin her professional career. Although she had been emphatic that she would never work in a nursing home again, she found her true calling as the administrator of Parkview Care Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Katie was preceded in death by her adoring grandparents, Henry and Helen Willms and Glenda Flippo. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Scott, her grandfather, Billy, her aunts, Mary Katheryn Flippo and Fran Willms, an uncle, David Willms and two cousins. In addition to her relatives, Katie leaves behind many friends, most especially her dear friends, Heather and Joel Sparenberg of Burleson, TX and their sons, Alex and Evan whom she loved more than anyone else in the world.
Most importantly, Katie leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion to her friends, family and the residents and staff at Parkview.
Her family requests that instead of flowers that contributions be made to the Katie Flippo Scholarship Fund care of Parkview Care Center, 3301 View Street, Fort Worth, TX 76103 or the SPCA.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Heather Clawitter officiating.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
