Funeral services for Anna Margaret Prichard of Flippin, Arkansas, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Anna died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in Mountain Home, AR, at the age of 91. She was born August 6, 1918 in Syracuse, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond Albert and Ollivine Richards Parsons. She graduated from the Research Hospital Medical Center School of Nursing, Parkville, MO as a Registered Nurse and University of Minnesota School of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. She married Howard M. Prichard on May 23, 1945 at Crawford, Nebraska. Her work history included the Research Hospital and Private Duty Nursing in Kansas City, MO, Missouri Department of Health in Clay and Seline Counties, she was assigned to Phelps County (Rolla, MO), 4th grade teacher in Waynesville, MO, staff nurse and night supervisor Marion County Hospital and the Arkansas Dept of Health as a Public Health Nurse in Marion and Baxter Counties and Public Health Nursing Supervisor for a six county area. Anna enjoyed music, playing the piano, reading and her family. Anna Prichard was a 2nd Lt. Army Nurse Corps veteran of World War II. She lived in Flippin, Arkansas since 1960 moving from Gainesville, Missouri. She was a member of the Arkansas Public Health Association, Research Hospital Medical Center Alumni (50 years) and Women?s Memorial Foundation. Anna is survived by her 3 sons, Raymond (Deborah) Prichard of Charlestown, WVA, J. Douglas Prichard of Dallas, TX, David (Lily Mak) Prichard of Dallas, TX; daughter-in-law. Patricia Harrop of Knoxville, TN; 2 grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer (Jim) Prichard of St. Paul, MN and Andrea Prichard of Knoxville, TN, 1 great-granddaughter, Gayla Prichard and a cousin, Kate Coones of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 son, Howard M. Prichard III Ph.D. Burial will be in the Willow Springs City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
