Anthony Thomas Bigos of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away January 24, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was born January 1, 1936, in Berwyn, Illinois, the son of Frank and Catherine Bigos. He married Vivian Moulik on June 17, 1961 in Berwyn, Illinois. Anthony worked as an electrician for IBEW local 134. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Anthony lived in Mountain Home since moving from Cary, Illinois in 1998. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. In his younger years, Anthony enjoyed drag racing. He also enjoyed working in his yard and puttering around. Anthony especially loved the Cadillac he restored. He was best known for his humor.
Anthony is survived by his sons, David Bigos of Mountain Home, AR, and Richard (Linda) Nesladek of Smartsville, CA; daughters, Cynthia Shoop of Nashville, IL, and Pat (Mark) Chaney of McHenry, IL; sister, Connie Bigos of Villa Park, IL; grandchildren, Sam, Ruth, Emma, and Scott; great-grandchildren, Ryder and Brooklyn; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivan Bigos; parents, Frank and Catherine Bigos; brother, Conrad Bigos; and sisters, Kasia Wozny, and Penny Kanikula.
Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2023, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with a Vigil at 6:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass for Anthony will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold officiating. A private family entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and Alley-White Post #52 Honor Guards.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
