Arleen Feavel died Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 87. Arleen was born Tuesday, September 20, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of Walter and Hilda Klawitter Schmidtke. She married Ron Feavel on July 27, 1940 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was an Air Force officer's wife for many years and enjoyed the travel and entertaining. She devoted herself to the needs of others, volunteering her time as a "Gray Lady" of the Red Cross. She was a strong-willed woman, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved to go dancing with her sweetheart, and was an accomplished cakemaker and seamstress. She and Ron have lived in Arkansas since 1969, moving here from Michigan, when they built a house on Bull Shoals Lake. Survivors: Arleen Feavel is survived by her husband, Ron Feavel, daughters Susan Nowatney of Horseshoe Bend and Jill (Archie) Floyd of Lostine, Oregon, eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gerald Schmidtke and brother-in-law, Michael Nowatney. Funeral: A Memorial Service for Arleen Feavel of Horseshoe Bend, AR, will be at a later date. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
