Arthur LeRoy Burton was born Tuesday, October 1, 1918 in Blanchard, Oklahoma , the son of John Oliver and Bessie Pruitt Burton. Arthur Burton was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He married Verna Mae Burton on February 11, 1955 at Wichita, Kansas and worked as a production Engineer for Boeing Aircraft for 27 years in the Northrup, Lockhed and Autonetics Divisions blueprinting. He worked on the Apollo 13. He held a real estate broker's license in Idaho and managed 3 offices for Century 21 from the mid 1970's until mid 1980's. Arthur lived in Mountain Home since August 1999 then moved to Cottonwood, Arizona in February 2009. He was a 50 year member of the Alley White American Legion Post #52. Arthur LeRoy Burton entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Verde Valley Medical Center at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 9 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Verna Mae Burton, 4 step-brothers and 1 granddaughter.
Arthur Burton is survived by his 3 daughters, Sheryl (J.L.) Carpenter of Mountain Home, AR, Connie (Harold) Hollon of Cottonwood, AZ and Virginia (Norman) Campbell of Sagle, Idaho, 6 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Virginia Wyssman of Whichita, KS and Flo Green of Summerlan, British Columbia, CA
