Arthur Lopeman

Skip died Saturday February 21, 2009 at his home in Bull Shoals. He was 70 years old. Skip was born March 26, 1938 at Chillicothe, Illinois to Thomas Townsend and Jospehine Sunshine Lopeman. He married Nancy Petty March 1, 1959 at Sparland, Illinois. Skip was a cross country truck driver, but he also farmed and worked in a coal mine. He would do whatever it took to take care of his family. Skip moved to Arkansas in 1989 from Kemp, Texas and traveled around the state before settling in Bull Shoals. The great outdoors was Skip's church. He loved fishing, could be ornery at times, but will be remembered by his friends and family for his willingness to give you the shirt of his back. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Nancy Lopeman of Bull Shoals; two daughters, Kelly Lopeman of Bull Shoals and Joze Rocha of Matamoras, Mexico; one son, Todd Lopeman(Vicki) of Winslow, Arkansas; one brother, John Lopeman(Jean) of Henry, Illinois; four sisters, Jane Lucas(Jim) of Chillicothe, Illinois, Joan Turner of Shell Knob, Missouri, Judy Hatten(Truman) of Tampa, Florida and Sue Young(Charles) of Brandon, Florida, two grandsons, one granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, three sons, five brothers and four sisters. Funeral: Services for Arthur Leroy "Skip" Lopeman will be private. Burial: Burial will be in Chillicothe, Illinois at the Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the family.
