Austin Payne

Mr. Austin W. Payne, age 96, passed away Dec. 21, 2008. Born February 26, 1912 at Norfork, Arkansas, Mr. Payne was the son of the late Mitchell and Clara Boyd Payne. He had an adventurous spirit and quite a sense of humor. He loved traveling, and his profession as a heliarc welder took him all over the United States. He dearly loved the White River and the mountains where he grew up, and always enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors: He is survived by a daughter Jennie Ann Gravis (Lew), four grandchildren, Lewis P. Gravis, Melissa Waikel, Heather Riley, and Robert Gravis. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Velda, 2nd wife Hazel, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Visitation: Visitation will be at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Sat. Dec. 27th from 5 - 7 P.M. Funeral: Funeral services will be 2 P.M. at Kirby & Family Funeral Home at Mt. Home, Sunday Dec. 28th. Burial: Burial will follow at Galatia Cemetery at Norfork.
