Barbara Jean Payton

A Memorial Service for Barbara Jean Payton of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bull Shoals, with Pastor Jerry Backus officiating.
Barbara went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. She died at home. Barbara Jean Payton was born July 21st, 1929 to Hazel and Raymond Fischer. She met her husband of many years, Byron in 1954, at Clancy's and Byron said, "There's my new wife." and so it was.
Barbara was a Christian and loved God, cooking, gardening, hummingbirds, the Razorbacks and helping other people.
She was known as a very kind spirited woman who gave the absolute best hugs. She was a member of the Historical Society, the Library and for many years a member of the Fireman's Auxiliary and with her dear friend, Anna Harper, managed the Little Bit Used Shop in Bull Shoals.
She also worked at the Village Vogue in Bull Shoals with her dearest friend, Minnie Carnahan until it closed.
Barbara was loved by many and loved just as many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Payton; her two sons, Larry and Bryon and great-grandchildren, Anders and Brodie.
Survivors include: sons, Gary Payton (Tina) of Bull Shoals, AR, Mark Payton of Bull Shoals, AR and David Payton (Shelly) of Jonesboro, AR; daughter-in-law, Penny Payton of Bakersfield, MO and her very special daughter and dearest friend, Becky McCracken (Richard) of Flippin, AR. A host of grandchildren; Lacee Jo, Scott (Jessica), Sandra (Patrick), Scott, Terry (Kailey), Jeromey, Markee, Kyle, Josh, Terry, Dawson, Alex, Brittany, Sarah, Hanna, Dillon, Harley, Ty, Lilly and Lariat and great-grandchildren: Bentley, Haydon, Jarrod, Eden, Beckett, Jett, Maci, Braxton, Jaxon, Tucker and Connor.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services-Bull Shoals.
