Barbara Petersen

Barbara Petersen was born December 21, 1930, at Coral, Michigan to Frank and Grace Parker. She married David Petersen on October 10, 1953, at Coral, Michigan. They lived in California 10 years, then moved to Brighton, Colorado for 28 years and have lived here in Mountain Home for the past 15 years. They are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain Home. She was an avid quilter and belonged to the Hill & Hollow Quilt Guild. She enjoyed the many trips they took to Europe, Hawaii and cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. She was also a member of the DAR. Barbara Died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the Hospice House of the Ozarks at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 1 day. She loved spending the winters in the Rio Grande Valley in Harlingen, Texas, where she enjoyed quilting, square dancing, cards and games at the Lakewood R.V. Park with their many friends. Survivors: She is survived by her husband, David Petersen of Mountain Home, Arkansas; three children, Robert (Vicki) Petersen of Tooele, Utah, JoAnn (Dan) Gilson of Aurora, Nebraska, and Sandra (Jeff) Talbot of Brighton, Colorado; a brother, Marvin Parker of St. Anthony, Idaho; two sisters, Mary (Ed) Kratzberg of Boise, Idaho, and Nancy Judy of Stuart, Florida. She has seven grandchildren, Meghan and Ryan Petersen of Tooele, Utah; Melissa and Justin Gilson of Aurora, Nebraska; Travis, Amanda and Clay Talbot of Brighton, Colorado. Preceded in Death by: Her Parents Funeral: Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bruce McClendon officiating. Burial: Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum. Memorials: Hospice of the Ozarks.
