Barbara Ann Reed was born July 14, 1940 at Springfield, Ohio the daughter of John and Angelus McGinnis Ramsey. She graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio and the Manatee Junior College in Bradenton, Fl. and received the second highest award in nursing. She married Harold Reed at Springfield, Ohio on December 24, 1960 and worked in the Grovemont Nursing Home and Manatee Memorial Hospital in Florida as an LPN. She resided in the Mountain Home area since moving from Bradenton, Florida in 1991. She was past District Commander and life member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 99, District 8 and was former Chaplin. She Attended Arkansas State University in Mountain Home taking Criminal Psychology. She was a Volunteer with the Clarkridge Fire and Rescue and was trained as an EMT and inHazardous Waste Recovery. She was also a member of the Clarkridge Fire Bells. Barbara Ann Reed entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2004 at Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 7 days. Survivors: husband, Harold “Peewee”, 1 daughter, Cheryl ( Hamilton) Dixon of Bradenton, Florida, 1 son, Christopher Reed of Clarkridge, Arkansas, 3 step-daughters, Annetta Mae (Joe) Willmuth of Springfield, Ohio, Evelyn (Ronnie) Pollard of Flippin, Arkansas, and Roberta (Dave) Hoops of Springfield, Ohio, 14 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: her parents, 1 son, Richard Leslie Reed, and 1 brother. Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 26 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Clarkridge Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Blount officiating, Burial: Sarasota Memorial Gardens, Sarasota, FL. Memorials: CARTI Honorary Bearers: Bud Wallace, Wally Naurocki and Nero Miller Active Bearers: Ronnie Byrd, Bob Growcock, Marion Dale Kendall, Dan Isbell, Lee Allen Kendall and Hank Ivey.
