Bernadette Pavalko

July 10, 1927 — May 15, 2011

Services for Bernadette ?Rusty? Pavalko of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be private.

Rusty died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 83. She was born July 10, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Martin and Theresa Pavalko. She was a clerk for Texaco Oil Company and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Rusty lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1998 moving from Port Arthur, Texas.

Bernadette loved to travel the world, and did many times. She was a member of the American Volksstort Association, and participated in organized walks in all 50 of the United States.

Rusty is survived by sister-in-law, Christine Pavalko; neice, Roxanne Atkinson and her children, Tony, Paige, and Audrey, of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, Alex and Joseph Pavalko.

It is impossible to adequately express our thanks to Mary and John Geyer for their amazing friendship and support. Seeing Bernadette through the difficult and final phases of pancreatic cancer was a gift of love. It was just the little things, Mary, that meant so much.

We are also grateful for the loving and respectful care provided by the staff of Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, Dr. Mark Williams, Dr. Ed White, nurses, Renee Biermann, Rosemary Perez, Mandy Worsham, Debbie Marler, Marjorie Swanson, Freda Shaker, Dawn Koerts, Anita Hall, Chris Cox, Debbie Hurst, nursing assistants, Linda Zimmerman, Heather Watson, Josephine Chase, and social worker Samantha Aklin.

Bernadette believed fully in the protection and care of all animals, so any donations on her behalf may be made to the Humane Society and would be appreciated by those of us left to remember her enormous heart.
