Bill passed away April 17, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. He was born September 1, 1923, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the son of William and Beulah (Koenig) Fuerst. He married Lorene Senne on August 6, 1946, at Greene, Iowa and ended his career as a Marketing Manager for Illinois Bell. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, earning the rank of First Lieutenant and serving in the Signal Corp throughout the Pacific theatre. He lived in Mountain Home since 1980, moving from Villa Park, Illinois. Bill was a volunteer for Hospice of the Ozarks for over 20 years, also volunteering for the American Cancer Society. He was a master woodcarver, who loved to fly fish and golf. Bill was an Eagle Scout and a longtime Scoutmaster of Troop 62 in Villa Park. Bill was a member of the Jaycees and a Mason.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lorene Frances Fuerst of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, William Fuerst of Elburn, IL and Robert (Margaret) Fuerst of West Bloomfield, MI; two daughters, Barbara (Jim) Bradley of New Bern, NC, and Sandra (Steve) Henderson of Villa Park, IL; 13 grandchildren, Jay (Kristin) Warner, Stephanie (Peter) Beal, Tony (Nicki) Bradley, Chris Bradley, Lorene (Charlie) Pepper, Jenny (Junhyun Bae), Amanda, Alex and Evan Fuerst, Steve (Lindsey), Scott (Jessica), Rob (Tami)and Samantha Henderson and 16 great-grandchildren, Kayla Beal, Jack Warner, Dalton and Teegan Duong, Jordan, Paige, Ethan, Noah and Addison Bradley, Catherine Range, Eric, Raquel, Chelsea, Robby, Max and Callie Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharron Warner (and her husband Joel) of Davenport, FL, and sister Dorothy (Leck) Ray of Mountain Home, AR.
Scattering of ashes will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Scattering Garden.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
