Bernard J. Lewis was born July 31, 1923, in Atwood, Kansas. He was the son of Albert and Carrie Jackson Lewis. He married Carol Ross on August 7, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. He was a structural ironworker for the International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Ironworkers, and a member of the Local 433 Union for fifty-three years. Mr. Lewis lived in Mountain Home fifteen years, moving from Paso Robles, California in 1990. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, private pilot, and loved the outdoors. Bernard J. Lewis passed away at his residence on July 29, 2005, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 28 days. Survivors: Wife of fifty years, Carol Lewis, of Mountain Home; three nephews, Bill (Donna) Porter, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brian Owen, of Hebron, Ohio, and Marty Lewis, of Hacienda Heights, California; four nieces, Betty (Larry) Long, of Orville, California, Holly (Roy) Harkin, of Happy Camp, California, Nicole (Michael) Carlson, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nancy (Michael) Albanese, of Hebron, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Harriet (Robert) Owen of Hebron, Ohio and one brother-in-law, Raymond O.
