Funeral Services for Bernard H. Russell of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 17, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Max Pyron officiating and Masonic Rites by Mountain Home Masonic Lodge #225 F&AM. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time. Bernard died September 13, 2010 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, at the age of 87. He was born December 12, 1922 in Canton, Illinois, the son of Gale and Daphne Fisher Russell. He married Inell Payne on December 12, 1922 at Dekalb, Illinois and was a farmer. Bernard Russell was a U.S. Army veteran of Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Shabbona Lodge No. 374, Shabbona, Illinois. Bernard lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1987 moving from Lee, Illinois. Bernard is survived by 1 son, Gordon L. (Sandra) Russell of Harrodsburg, KY, 2 daughters, Bernadean (William) Patton of Havana, IL and Debra L. Russell of Canton, IL; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum with William Patton, Bob Stewart, Paul Johnson, David Osmon, Eldred Russell and Leland Russell as pallbearers. Military honors will be by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
