Funeral Ceremony for Bertie L. Henderson of Norfork, Arkansas, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Calico Rock United Methodist Church, with Pastor Wade Wood officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time, Tuesday, March 1 at the church.
Bertie died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at her residence, at the age of 71. Bertie was born July 2, 1939 in Cushman, AR, the daughter of Roy and Velma Stroud McTigue. She married James Henderson on March 11, 1979 at Wichita, KS.
Bertie is survived by her son, Tommy Hollaway, 2 daughters; Leatha Benefiel, and Cindy Francis, stepchildren; Jimmy, Randy, Bobby, Billy, Ira, and Corbie Henderson, and step-daughter, Sheila Henderson, brothers; Eddie Hess, and Stanley McTigue, sister, Katherine Kelley, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
Burial will be in the Lee's Chapel Cemetery with Keith Sharp, Robert Sanders, David McTigue, Brian McTigue, Danny Smart, and Jeff Fiffe as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Joe Kelly, Adam Robbins, and Carl Rollins.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
