Bessie A. Duncan of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away February 6, 2024, in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 84. She was born April 12, 1939, in Jefferson, Oregon, the daughter of Zera and Lola Owen Thompson. She married C.R. Duncan on October 7, 1955, in Dallas, Oregon. She worked as a loan officer for 10 years and later retired as a retail clerk after 21 years. Bessie lived in Mountain Home since moving from Anchorage, Alaska in 2004. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mountain Home, Arkansas and was a member of the Relief Society. She enjoyed reading, going out to eat, playing Bunco, and taking trips to the Branson shows. Bessie especially loved spending time with her family.
Bessie is survived by her son, Robert Duncan of Sun City West, AZ; daughters, Toni Duncan of Mountain Home, AR, Sherry Ranf of Denio, NV, and Anita Smythe of Mountain Home, AR; brother, Billy Thompson of Salem, OR; sister, Lola Raschka of Oroville, CA; grandchildren, Rachell, Brandie, Missy, Christinia, Lucas, Chris, Gary, and Robert; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Martha, Margaret, and Mary.
A Funeral Service for Bessie will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mountain Home, AR. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Inurnment will be 3:00 pm, Friday, February 16, 2024 in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR.
