Memorial Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Murph of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Betty passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her residence, at the age of 68. She was born April 15, 1942 in Walnut Ridge, AR, the daughter of Walker James and Geneva Sullivan Housdan. She married James A. Murph on December 16, 1983 at Marshall, Texas. She was retired from the Social Security Administration. Betty lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 20 years moving from Marshall, Texas. She was a master gardener, loved to dance, travel, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Betty is survived by four sisters, Carolyn Lamb of Ravenden Springs, AR; Lisa Berry of Selma, TX; Vida Stallings of Black Rock, AR; Kitty Stringfellow of North Little Rock, AR; one brother, Dennis Housdan of Charlottesville, VA; special friends Demple Mitchall; Mary Etta Remagen; Wanda Morrison; and Jo Irby, all of Mountain Home, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Judy Moody, brothers Danny, Mike, and Ted.
