Betty Trauth died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at home in the Promise Land Area north of Mountain Home at the age of 80. She was born Sunday, November 27, 1927 in University City, Missouri, the daughter of Perry Handsford and Zora Burns Stark. She married Walter Burl Trauth on June 16, 1945 at Wellston, Missouri and was a homemaker. Betty lived in the Promise Land Area since 1955 moving from Berkley, Missouri. She was a member of the PLACO Community Center, enjoyed making butterfly origami, crocheting, reading, and sketching. Survivors: Betty Trauth is survived by her son, Stanley Elwood (Joy) Trauth of Jonesboro, AR, 3 daughters, Carol (Bill) Wherry of Fair Grove, MO, Sharon Jean (Paul) Slater of Crocker, MO and Cindy Gale (Mike) Yonan of Sandwich, IL, 2 sisters, Mary Katherine Kaufman of Mountain Home, AR and Anna Grace Rasor of St. Louis, MO, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way and numerous neices and nephews. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Burl Trauth, parents and 2 brothers, Thornley and Pearce Dana. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Friday, June 20 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral Services for Betty Amelia Trauth of Mountain Home, AR will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Duane Farris officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the PLACO Community Center or Hospice of the Ozarks.
