Betty Ruth (Wright) Wilhite of Gassville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 88, surrounded by family. She was born August 17, 1932, in Paragould, Arkansas, the daughter of Floyd and Myrtle Reddick Wright. She married Huey Wilhite on October 6, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas. She was a member of the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church. She lived for her family and was the quintessential wife, mother, and “Mamaw” (grandmother and great grandmother). The matriarch of a big family, she could switch seamlessly from role to role according to the audience and purpose.
Betty is survived by her three sons: Hulen (Beverly) Wilhite of Mountain Home, AR; Keith (Sandy) Wilhite of Flippin, AR; and Farron (Angie) Wilhite of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Pamela Fears of Mountain Home, AR; widowed son-in-law Vernis Miller, sister Faye May (Dean) of Paragould, AR; sister-in-law Ruby Miracle, nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Miller, two brothers Bob Wright and Kenneth Wright, and sister Wanda Lee Griffith.
Because of the growing number of Covid cases in our area, all services will be family only with Darren Morris officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
