A funeral service for Betty Jane Zimmer of Midway, Arkansas, will be Thursday, January, 12, 2012, at 3:00 PM, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Taglauer officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Betty passed away January 7, 2012, in Flippin, Arkansas at the age of 84. She was born February 14, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Sigmond H. and Alma Nusel McLean. She married Warren Zimmer on February 14, 1948, at St. Louis, Missouri and worked as a purchasing agent. Betty lived in Midway, Arkansas since 1985, moving from Jennings, Missouri. She was a member of United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and Redeemer Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed needle point and volunteering at the church.
Betty is survived by two sons, Mark Zimmer (Ginger Rapp) of Midway, AR, and Warren "Skip" (Susan) Zimmer of St. Charles, MO; one granddaughter, Kristin (Donny) Kassing of Sullivan, MO; and one great-grandson, Gage Kassing of Sullivan, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Don McLean.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, following the funeral.
Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 1250 Hylan Blvd, Suite 4B, Staten Island, NY 10305.
