Beverly Sue Carter, 73, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2017 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born on March 24, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri, to William and Olamae Pennington.
Beverly grew up in Seymour, Missouri, and graduated from Seymour High School in 1962. After high school, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she married Howard Denney and raised two children, Scott and Stacey Denney, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was a dedicated full-time mother and homemaker for many years. She worked for the IRS, in retail, as a receptionist, and as a Dispatcher at Richards-Gebaur AFB Fire Department before she retired. Beverly married Jay Carter in 1997 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. They lived happily in Cotter, Arkansas along the White River for nearly 20 years. Beverly was a volunteer at the Baxter County Public Library, Gassville branch. She enjoyed traveling to California to spend time with her granddaughters Eryn and Molly. In recent years, she became a talented, self-taught wildlife photographer. She was also a member of several wildlife groups located around the world.
Beverly is survived by her spouse, Jay Carter of Cotter, AR; her daughter, Stacey Wilson (spouse Mark) of Simi Valley, CA; her brother, Ken Pennington (spouse Peggy) of Seymour, MO; sister Shirley Shores (spouse John) of Mountain Grove, MO; her granddaughters, Eryn and Molly Wilson; and her many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Scott Denney (2016).
Funeral Services will be private.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army or the Baxter County Library, Gassville Branch.
