Beverley Delia Martin, 87, of Lakeview, Arkansas left the bondage of her earthly life to the glorious freedom of her eternal home June 1, 2012, at Twin Lakes Nursing Center in Flippin, AR. A Graveside Funeral will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Kirby?s Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Backus Officiating. Beverley was born September 23, 1924, in San Francisco, California. Her parents were Christopher and Delia Overwater Canada. She married the man she loved dearly and devoted her life to O. Frank Martin on April 11, 1943, in Many, Louisiana. Throughout her life, Beverley put other people first. She loved helping others and being a surrogate grandmother to many children. She and Frank faithfully hosted the monthly fellowship dinners at their church, The First Baptist Church of Bull Shoals. Beverley and Frank loved traveling the country in their motor home. She never met a stranger and spent her days talking to and enjoying the many people they came in contact with on their trips. Beverley is survived by daughter, Penny Burkhart (Ira) of Davie, FL; son, Chris Martin (Robbin) of Elk Grove, CA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and special friends, Jerry and Martha Backus of Lakeview, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson, Bradley Frank Hancok and brother, Tom Canada. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association or charity of choice.
