A ?Graduation Service? for Beverly Ann ?Annie? Spengler of Mountain Home, AR, will be held Sunday, March 18th, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at Twin Lakes Baptist Church in Mountain Home with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating. Annie Spengler, 89, died February 22, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born February 17, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri to Edward and Nelle Sewell Styan. She graduated from Sadorus High School in Sadorus, Illinois 1940, studied at the University of Illinois and attended nurses training at the Decatur and Macon County hospital in Decatur, Illinois. She married Robert H. Spengler on August 15, 1944, who was serving in the military at that time. Annie lived in Mountain Home since 1996 after moving from El Paso, Texas. She was an active member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church and a community volunteer who believed that her faith required serving those less fortunate in life. She served at Hospice of Mountain Home, and ?Serenity? for fifteen years, a shelter for battered women and children and in 2009 received a Presidential citation for her outstanding contributions in volunteerism. Surviving are husband, Robert; two sons, Mark (Eva) Spengler of Colorado Springs, CO, Craig (Sheila) Spengler of Heber Springs, AR; daughter Nicki (James) Foreman of Alto, NM; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made at to Serenity Incorporated of Mountain Home. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
