Bill Wayne Greer, 75 a long time resident of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas passed away March 25, 2011. He went to join the Lord and his immediate family who preceded him; his mother and father Clara (Baston) Greer and Harmon Greer, his brother Jimmy Greer, His loving wife Rowena Greer and his beloved daughter Kathleen Greer. Bill loyally served his country for 7 years in the Navy. He was present during the Vietnam conflict prior to an honorable discharge. Bill moved on and became the city Marshall of Buffalo, Iowa. He then moved on to become a deputy sheriff of Scott County, Iowa. Upon moving to Arkansas, Bill became a carpenter and an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Horseshoe Bend Arkansas. He worked as a bartender at the club for many years and while doing so made many friends. Bill is survived by his beloved daughter, Connie (Greer) Keller, his sister: Katherine (Greer) Byres, Midge (Greer) Peterson, Jan (Greer) Bufford and brother Bob Greer, grandsons Bill and Scott Williams, Jerry and Randall Kellar, granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Heck and husband Rian Heck, sister-in-law Beverly Heck and husband Jackie Heck and 12 great grandchildren with one on the way. Bill will be sorely missed by all. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the Eagles Club in Horseshoe Bend on Saturday, April 2nd, at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the benevolent fund of the Fraternal Order of Eagles or the Hospice of the Ozarks.
