Billy Russell Alspaugh of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed from this earth into the arms of his loving Savior on July 19, 2021, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 92. He was born August 27, 1928, in Liberty, Missouri, the son of Russell and Beatrice Archer Alspaugh. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII. He was a deacon and minister for many years in the Southern Baptist churches. He retired from Kroger Grocery Stores. Billy lived in Arkansas since moving from Missouri, in 2001. He married Georgia on October 28, 2006, in Hardy, Arkansas. Billy's titles throughout his 92 years included theater usher, soda jerk at a drug store, factory worker, deckhand, manager in the grocery business, maintenance man, custodian, Sunday School teacher, wedding consultant, caregiver, and most importantly, faithful servant of the Lord. His motto was "Love one day at a time." He was loved and will be truly missed. His quiet manner and gentle graciousness were a blessing to our family.
Billy is survived by his wife, Georgia Vowell of Mountain Home, AR; three step-daughters, Tresha Bowen of Mountain Home, AR, Leasha Farris of Mountain Home, AR, and Robin (Tony) Hill of Sherwood, AR; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
A Family Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Custer-Herron Cemetery, Henderson, Arkansas.
