Funeral Services for Billy Charles Jordan of Cotter, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 11, 2012, with a visitation before the service from 1:00 pm until service time at Riverside Church of Christ, with Brother Ron Morgan officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, February 10, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Billy passed away February 6, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 79. He was born July 8, 1932, in Vernon, TX, the son of Charles and Myrtle Blume Jordan. He married Mary Frances Wade on December 22, 1951, at Las Cruces, New Mexico. Billy was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Air Force in 1969 and went on to attend Harding University from 1970 to 1974, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He began his career in ministry as a missionary in Brazil for two years. Upon returning to the United States he continued serving congregations in Nebraska, Illinois, and Arkansas, until his retirement. He lived in Cotter, Arkansas since 2002. Billy is survived by his wife, Frances Jordan, of Cotter, AR; son, Robert Jordan, of Cotter, AR; two daughters, Nancy (Philip) Hurst, of Cotter, AR, Martha (Frank) Brown, of Hockley, TX; brother, James Jordan of Sacramento, CA; and sister, Charlene Dillard, of Olney, TX; seven grandchildren, Alex Brown, Meredith (Chris) Condon, Staci (Corey) Coston, Melissa (Drew) McKinnon, Jordan Hurst, Eric (Dana) Jordan, Erin (Mike) Rains; seven great-grandchildren, J.P. McKinnon, Leah Grace McKinnon, Shelby Ann Jordan, Addison Jordan, Kayden Rains, Noah Rains, and Dalton Hunter Rains. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Alex Brown, Chris Condon, Jordan Hurst, Drew McKinnon, Corey Coston, Eric Jordan, and Mike Rains as pallbearers. Military Honors and honorary pallbearers will be by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 701 Burnett Drive, Mtn. Home, AR 72653. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
