Billy D. Meador of Mountain Home, AR passed away June 24, 2014. Bill was born September 10, 1931, in Waco, TX to John A. Meador and Myrtle L. Wharton Meador. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Mountain Home; two daughters, Beverly Meador of New Boston, TX and Karen Weimer of Greeley, CO; three sons, Keith Meador of Fort Smith, AR, David Meador of Schertz, TX and Gary Svoboda of Greeley, CO; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a number of other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy A. Blackmon.
He was of the Christian faith. Bill began his service to The Lord at a young age at Immanuel Baptist Church in Waco where he served as a deacon and most recently attended First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home.
He was a Veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War and retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety where he served as a Highway Patrolman, Pilot, and Investigator. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
A memorial service will be held at the Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014, with Reverend Rodney Steele officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Waco Memorial Park, Waco, TX.
In lieu of flowers, he requested that memorials be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 701 Burnett Dr., Mountain Home, AR 72653.
