Billy P. Singleton

Billy Pruett Singleton age 87, of Marmaduke and Mountain Home, AR passed on to Glory to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 16, 2015. Billy was born in Trezevant, Tennessee to Jiles Monroe Singleton and Betsy (Pruett) Singleton on August 17, 1928. His mother passed away when he was only 2. Also preceding him in death was his father, one brother, five sisters, and his step mother: Nover Lee who raised him. His precious wife Loita Maria (Pinkston) Singleton, of 66 years has been waiting for him in Heaven since August 2, 2013.

Billy is survived by one brother: Glenn (Betty) Singleton and son Michael of Columbia, South Carolina, sister Cora Jo (James) Holt of Illinois and sister Francis Dortch of Phoenix, Arizona. One special cousin Bobby (Jean) Singleton of Bonne Terre, Missouri. Billy is survived by one son, Larry (Brenda) Singleton of Paragould and their two sons: Jonathan (Jordan) Singleton of Mountain Home and Todd (Tracy) Singleton and great grand-daughter Courtney all of Paragould and great grandson Kyle Logan Singleton of Fayetteville, Arkansas. One daughter: Theresa (Paul) Jaques of Mountain Home and their four children. Shanna (Richard) Payne, great grandchildren Emily, Allison and Levi. Matt (Amber) Sutton and great grandson Pruett all of Mountain Home. SGT Zachary (Brittany) Sutton of Springfield, Missouri and CPT Kyle (Amanda) Jaques of Marmaduke.

Billy was by trade a farmer and did not retire from the fields he loved so much until age 72. But his greatest asset in life was his love for Christ and his family and church. He became the youngest ordained Deacon in Holland Baptist Church before moving to Marmaduke where he continued to serve as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent for decades at First Baptist Church. He also served many years on Board of Directors for Delta Cotton Co-op in Marmaduke. His greatest desire in life was that all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren come to accept Jesus as their personal Savior.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 19, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marmaduke. Services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the church with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Hartsoe Cemetery in Marmaduke with Irby Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are grandsons: Todd Singleton, Jonathan Singleton, Kyle Singleton, Matthew Sutton, Zachary Sutton, Kyle Jaques, and Richard Paul Payne III. Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky Roberts, Andy Rogers, and Allen Newell.

Memorials may be made to Hospice House of the Ozark’s or the Christian church of you choice.
