Bishop Linda Sue Dabney

A Funeral Service for Bishop Linda Sue Dabney of Oakland, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, with Reverend David Gadbaw officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Linda passed away December 18, 2017, in Oakland, Arkansas at the age of 71. She was born April 1, 1946, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the daughter of Cleo and Gladys Green. She was a life-time resident of the area and married Simon "Lee" on September 25, 1993, in Mountain Home. She was a Community of Hope coordinator and teacher which led her into her next step in ministry as a Reverend in the Lutheran Church. She was also involved in services at Good Samaritan Village. She was the Bishop at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church for eight years. She enjoyed painting and travel.

Linda is survived by her husband, Simon "Lee" Dabney of Oakland, AR; daughter, Sonya (Bryant) Perry of Rowlett, TX; son, Craig Nodine of Houston, TX; brother, Larry (Carla) Green of Mountain Home, AR and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Cindy Nodine.

Burial will be in the Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.
