Bobby Joe Helms

Bobby Joe Helms of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away November 26, 2023 at the age of 86. He was born September 29, 1937, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the son of Jess and Sylvia Helms. He married Elizabeth Contreras on August 12, 1956 in Santa Clara, CA. Bobby worked as a carpenter and retired after 50 years. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and participated in Operation Redwing. Bobby lived in Mountain View, AR since moving from California in 2021. He enjoyed an array of activities including hunting, fishing, dirt track racing, and waterskiing. In recent years, he spent his time doing puzzles with his wife, building DIY crafts, and he always enjoyed a good garage sale. He was a big fan of the San Francisco Giants and always remained faithful to his 49ers. Bobby was best known for being a social butterfly and always making friends wherever he went.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Helms of Mountain View, AR; daughter, Diana Rudolph of Mountain View, AR; grandchildren, Desiree, Danielle, Stephen, Bobbie Joe, Sunny, Summer, and Stacie; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Ricky Helms.
