Bonnie Margason

August 19, 1925 — May 8, 2008

Mrs. Margason died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Hospice House in Mountain Home at the age of 82. Mrs. Margason was born August 19, 1925 at Mt. Zion, Missouri the daughter of Gaylord and Mattie Thrush Lionberger. She married Willis Boyd Margason on February 11, 1945 at Riverside, California and was a homemaker. Bonnie had lived in Mountain Home since moving from St. Louis, Missouri in 1962. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was active in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir, was 2nd Grade Sunday School teacher, Senior Aerobics instructor, served as local and state Women's Missionary Union President, and involved in the deaf ministry and Christian Clinic. She was the first President of the Mountain Home Sr. High PTA, organized in 1967 - 1968 and served on the Downtown Merchants and Heart Fund Committee, Cub Scouts, a Brownie Leader, Room Mother; and was a Reach to Recovery Cancer Support Group member at Peitz Cancer Center. Survivors: Bonnie Margason is survived by her Son, Roger (Roberta) Margason of Sprinfield, Missouri, Daughter, Gayle (Gene) Wager of Baton Rouge, Louisisana, Grandson, Philip Margason, 3 Granddaughters, Rebekah Margason, Angela Blankenship, Genelle Hix, 3 Great-Granddaughters, Jayne, Emma, and Kate Margason. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Boyd Margason , her Parents, 1 Daughter, Peggy Lee Margason and 1 Sister, June Sanders. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00, Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral service for Bonnie Lee Margason of Mountain Home will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church. Burial: Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mountain Home or Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home. Honorary Bearers: Honorary pallbearers will be current and past 2nd Grade Sunday School Classes and their families. Active Bearers: Barney Larry, Bud Cooper, Robert Nelson, Frank Huckaba, Russell Miller, T.C. Carter, Roger Barnett and Lynn Blevins as pallbearers.
