Bonnie Augustus Smith

Bonnie Augustus Smith of Lakeview, Arkansas passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 88. She was born March 14, 1935, in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Wilford and Arlene Cady Augustus. She met the love of her life, Gene Smith, over forty years ago and after many happy, adventurous, loving years together they married in 2021. Bonnie worked for many years in different positions at American Airlines in Dallas; the most recent as a Customer Service Representative. After retirement she and Gene moved to Lakeview in 2002. She was a member of the Retired Fisherman’s Club and the local bowling league. She was the secretary/treasurer of the Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts and volunteered at the Bull Shoals-White River State Park Visitor Center. Piloting small airplanes and deep sea fishing are just two examples of Bonnie’s spirit of adventure. She loved taking road trips with friends and family, enjoyed all genres of music, and especially liked playing the slots in Tunica.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Gene Smith of Lakeview, AR; sisters, Barbara Price of Bull Shoals, AR, and Gloria (George) Breault of Bull Shoals, AR; niece, Carrie Russello of Bull Shoals, AR and nephew, Bradley Price of Kailua-Kona, HI; great-niece, Amanda and great-nephew, Dylan; three great-great nieces and nephew, Aulora, Carter, and Anaya; stepchildren, Karin Womack of TX and Stephen Smith of PA and step-grandchildren, Matteo, Sophia, Serina, Matthew, Kaitlyn, and Allycia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Gigi.

Family services will be private.
