Services for Britt Ingegard Wall Padrta of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be private.
Britt is survived by her husband, David Padrta of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, David Padrta, Jr. (Kathy) of Cannon Falls, MN and Gary Padrta (Carol) of Detroit Lakes, MN; daughter, Barb Linker (Todd) of Mountain Home, AR; grandchildren, Neal, Carlie and Mathew Padrta and great-grandsons, Elijah, Dylan and Devon.
Britt passed away July 8, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. She was the daughter of Swedish immigrants and raised in Duluth, Minnesota along the shores of Lake Superior. She loved the lake and hearing the fog horn on those foggy mornings. She loved going to the movies, paying a dime each time, and reading her movie magazines. After high school, Britt graduated with a degree in nursing from St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth in 1948. She loved being an OR nurse, working at the University of Minnesota. She saw David walk through a door one day and knew she would marry him and on July 23, 1954, they tied the knot. She quit nursing to raise three children and returned to work at Fairview Hospital in Edina, Minnesota and later at Fairview in Burnsville. She retired in the early 1990's.
Britt loved to travel and was a great travel companion, always on the lookout for an antique mall or shop. She loved putting picture puzzles together, watching old movies and musicals, Benny Hill and Collecting odds and ends. But most of all, she loved her fur baby, Lilly. They were never apart, until dementia started to rob Mom of her memory. Britt was a loving wife and a wonderful mom and grandmother!
We want to give a special thanks to caregivers, Joyce, Connie and Jenifer for taking care of Britt. And a thank you to the Hospice of North Arkansas and Denise for guiding us through this difficult time.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Arkansas Promise Foundation or Alzheimers.org.
