Bruce Bailey of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away on June 12, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 88. He was born on December 19, 1935, in Staten Island, New York, to Ryel and Hazel Harrington Bailey. Bruce married Linda Taylor on March 8, 1959, in South Nyack, NY. He worked as an operating engineer for 33 years. Bruce was a U.S. Army veteran of the Cold War. He moved to Bull Shoals, Arkansas, in 1986. Bruce was a member of the Bull Shoals Methodist Church and passionate about his service in and as the Commander of the Civil Air Patrol AR-107. He was also the Past Commander of the American Legion Post 431 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Bruce was a natural-born teacher who loved sharing his knowledge with anyone willing to listen.
Bruce is survived by his children: daughters, Alicia (Kenneth) Gehegan of Texas and Corinne (Robert) Jackson of Texas; sons, Charles (Tina) Bailey, Sr. of Bull Shoals, Arkansas and Robert (Cheri) Bailey of Indiana. He was blessed with 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post 1341 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas, on July 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Greg Coolidge officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post 1341 Honor Guards.
