Services for Burley Darrell Stroud of Ash Flat, Arkansas, will be private. Burley passed away November 14, 2012, in Ash Flat, Arkansas at the age of 80. He was born July 9, 1932, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the son of Alfred and Betty Tyson Stroud. He married Emily Vetterly on June 25, 1967, in Canada and worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Burley was a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII and received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Metal and Army Occupational Medal of Germany. Burley lived in Ash Flat, since 2006 moving from Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing, traveling and had a great sense of humor. He was loved by all. Burley is survived by his sister, Linda Sue McKenny of Poplar Bluff, Mo; several nieces and nephews and his companion, Elmina Johnson of Ash Flat, AR. He was preceded in death by parents, wife, three sisters, Mona Hancock, Freda Mitchell and Polly Holdener and two brothers, Carl and Clarence Stroud.
