Buster Robert "Bob" Shields

A Funeral Service for Buster Robert "Bob" Shields of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 1:00 pm until service time, at the funeral home.
Bob passed away January 15, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born December 4, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Sam and Dot Williams Shields. Buster was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Bob lived in Mountain Home since moving from Soldotna, Alaska, in 1986. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge #1714 BPOE, the Moose Lodge #1953, and the Twin Lakes Golf Club.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert Shields of Kauai, Hawaii, and Donald (Leila) Shields of Entait, WA; daughter, Mary (Bert) Vanborg of Anchorage, AK; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Verlon Kelly of Arkansas, and Paul (Pat) Kelly of North Little Rock, AR; and his special friend Pat's two sons, David and Steven, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; special friend of over 30 years, Pat Barry; and two brothers.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
