Reverend Carl Loyal Cravens

A Funeral Service for Reverend Carl Loyal Cravens of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Bill Johnson and Reverend James Pool officiating. Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.

Carl passed away November 22, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 89. He was born May 23, 1929, in Purcell, Oklahoma, the son of Thomas and Ellen Cravens. He married Henrietta Smith on January 28, 1975, in Vicksburg, Mississippi and was a Missionary Baptist Church Minister. He owned Mountain Home Transmission from 1980 until 1996, and lived in Mountain Home since moving from Vicksburg, Mississippi, in 1980. He loved kids, fishing, turkey hunting and watching westerns.

Carl is survived by his wife, Henrietta Cravens of Mountain Home, AR; son, Wayne (Donna) Ellis of Norfork, AR; daughter, Jeannie (David) McDonald of Vicksburg, MS; sister, Nellie Young of Mt. Ida, AR; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Tommy and James Ellis; daughter, Brenda Burton; four brothers and four sisters.

Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery, Norfork, Arkansas, with Wayne Ellis, Mark McGowan, Michael Packard, Jason Acklin, Bob Williams and Russell King as pallbearers.
