Carl Lueker

December 25, 1920 — March 5, 2007

Reverend Carl Lueker was born December 25, 1920 at Dover, Arkansas to Charlie and Louise Harms Lueker. He married Minnie Gerdes on July 28th, 1946 at Lafe. He was a retired Lutheran Pastor being a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary of Springfield, Illinois in 1946. He served his vicarage at St. John's Lutheran church in Chicago, Illinois. During his ministry he served churches in Granite and Breckinridge, Oklahoma for 11 years, Alexandria, Indiana for 11 years , Wichita, Kansas for 4 years and Clarinda, Iowa for 13 years. After retirement he moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He visited the shut-in members of Redeemer and gave them communion. He also held communion services at the nursing homes and Sunday Morning services at many neighboring congregations during their vacancies. Survivors: wife, Minnie Lueker, Mountain Home; 3 daughters, Lois Joslyn and husband Randy of Coralville, Iowa, Esther Hass and husband Kenneth of Memphis, Michigan, Karen Nolting and husband Timothy of Berthoud, Colorado; 1 son, Carl Lueker, Jr. and wife Sharyn of LaGrange, Texas; 2 sisters, Louise Welch and husband Harley and Lydia Tritch all of Lafe. Also 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral: Prayer service will be 9:00 A.M. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Funeral service 3:00 Thursday, March 8th, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lafe, with Pastor Kurt Dwyer and Pastor Kenneth Taglauer officiating. Burial: St. John's Cemetery Memorials: may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Hearts Ablaze and St. John's Lutheran Church. Honorary Bearers: Ronald Tritch, Harold Gerdes Active Bearers: Orin Tritch, Kim Tritch, Benny Lueker, Gary Gerdes, Kevin Reddick, Mark Lueker, Gred Gerdes, Ronald Harvey, Phil Rousch, and Aaron Reddick
